Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve asked, I’ve answered! The most frequently asked questions:

1. How much does a session cost?
Sessions start at $40 for locations in Tipton and North Shelby counties (Millington). Outside these areas, sessions begin at $60. This fee includes up to one hour of photography. Weddings start at $800, which includes four hours of photography; additional coverage is available for $200 per hour. For more information, please see the 2010 price list.

2. Is there an additional fee for on-location sessions?
Nope! Well, not unless you’re outside of Tipton County or Millington. I do not have a studio, so all of my sessions are on-location.

3. What is the length of an average session?
An average portrait session is 30-60 minutes.

4. Do you photograph babies, children and families?
My specialties are with couples and I prefer to shoot couples and engagement photos, weddings, events and maternity portraits. High school seniors are also welcome. Tipton County has several other talented children and family photographers and I’m sure you’ll be happy with the images they produce.

5. It’s raining! Can I reschedule?
Portrait sessions may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and illness. Please refer to the refund and cancellation policies if you are not able to reschedule.

6. What should I wear?
Whatever you’d like! Solid colors work best as they are less distracting and dress-casual style clothing looks better in portraits than t-shirts and flip flops, but these are your photos, dress the way you want to be photographed and remembered.

7. Do you retouch every image?
Every image presented to clients has been post-processed, correcting skin tones and colors as well as applying artistic color alterations and tinting.

8. How long until I see my images?
Proofs from portrait sessions are usually online for viewing within 7-10 days after your session. Because of the volume of photos taken, wedding photographs can take up to 4 weeks to post-process. Only the best of the best will make it to your online gallery.

9. How long do I have to order?
You will have 10 days to make a purchase. After 10 days, photos will be archived and a $50 archive fee will be charged for retrieval. If you have placed an order, your photos will stay in our archives for one year; if no order has been placed, after six months your photos will be disposed.

10. How long does it take to get my order?
Once your payment has been received, your images will be printed by my lab. Expect 10-14 days for printing and shipping. Once they arrive, I will call you to arrange pick-up.

11. How much are 8x10s?
It depends: would you like a desk, wall or canvas print? See the price list for more information.

12. Can you burn all of my photos on a CD?
Not unless you purchase them. Ten high-resolution digital image files are available for $250. There is a $150 minimum print purchase required before digital images will be sold.

13. Can I scan my prints or post my proofs to my Facebook page?
Scanning, duplicating or distributing my images without my permission is a direct violation of copyright laws. I understand you would like to share photos on Facebook or other social networking sites – just give me a call and we can work something out.

14. I don’t live near you, will you travel?
Call or e-mail me – I would be happy to discuss this with you or suggest photographers in your area.

15. Why are professional photographers more expensive?
Professional photographers are more expensive because they care about their clients, the images they’re shooting, their craft and the final product. You’re paying for talent, time and artistry. And it’s worth it.
