Policies

Here I have outlined some of my policies regarding refunds, orders, cancellations and more.

Payment
Portrait sessions: Fees for portrait sessions are due in full at the start of your session. Failure to provide payment to Echo Day Photography will result in the termination of your session by the photographer. Returned checks will result in the disposal of all portraits taken during your session.

Wedding and event coverage: Retainers for wedding and event photography, which is half of the contract price, are due when the contract is signed. Remainder due seven days prior to event date.

Orders: Payment for print products, digital images and designs, design fees and other merchandise is due when the order is placed. Merchandise will not be delivered until payment is received in full.

Sessions
Unless otherwise arranged, no other cameras (including cell phone cameras) will be allowed during portrait sessions.

Please limit people present at session to include the subjects being photographed and two other people.

If you have contracted Echo Day Photography for your wedding or event, no other professional photographer will be shooting during the wedding unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties; as with typical portrait sessions, no other cameras will be allowed while the formal photos are being taken both before and after the ceremony.

Any permit fees or other costs associated with conducting a session in a specified location are to be paid by the client.

Cancellations & Refunds
Portrait sessions: Portrait sessions cancelled more than 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund of session fees.

Weddings/events: Canceling a wedding or event photography session 60 days or more prior to a contracted date will result in a full refund of retainer fees. A 50% refund will be given when a wedding or event session is cancelled 30-59 days prior to the contracted date. No refund will be given for the cancellation of a wedding or event less than 30 days prior to contracted date.

Prints and other products: If you are dissatisfied with your prints or other products, please call 731-612-2723 or e-mail me.

Copyright
Scanning and/or duplicating prints and posting images online without permission is a violation of copyright laws.

By law, a copyright comes into existence automatically the moment a professional photograph is created; therefore, that copyright is owned by the photographer or the photographer’s studio.  The Federal Copyright Law provides that professional photographers have the exclusive right to control the making of copies of the photographs that they create.  Unfortunately there are severe criminal penalties for those who choose to violate this law, with fines up to $100,000 possible per infringed work.  For your protection I urge you not to scan, reprint, reproduce, or copy any of the prints purchased from your session as it is considered a direct violation of a Federal Law. Since March 1, 1989, a print does not need to be marked in any way to be copyrighted.  Length of a copyright for a created image remains for the life of the artist plus 50 years.

Please contact me for permission if you intend to duplicate an image and I will go over my policy with you.

These policies are subject to change without notice.
